Born and raised in Westfalia, Germany, I had been able to enjoy several years of riding lessons with Hubertus Schmidt before moving to the Oberschwaig in 2004.
Next to my training as a physiotherapist for horses, the Academic Art of Riding caught my attention.
In autumn 2004, I then took part at the Bent Branderup clinic as a spectator of the theoretical fraction. Since autumn 2005, I have been a member of the steady riding group for Bent Branderup twice a year at the Oberschwaig.
Following in autumn 2010, I passed my Squire Test, adding the Lunge- and Groundworktest in October 2011. In April 2012, I passed my Knight’s test and in April 2016 the Piaff- Ring -Test. Joining the annual Bent Branderup’s Summer Academy in Denmark, in order to meet colleagues and share experience, has been a part of my schedule since 2011.
In 2013, I was fortunate to be a guest at the clinic about “Canterwork” with Bent Branderup at Marius Schneider’s place in Lüdinghausen and I also attended the clinic about “Collection” there in 2015.
In 2016 I was a part of THE NEXT GENERATION TOUR, organized by Arien Aguilar. The exchange with the team, with Arien and with Gilliane Senn (France) inspired me and enriched me personally and professionally!
Furthermore, I regularly join clinics with Christofer Dahlgren, a Master of the Academic Art of Riding, with my horses and some of my students.
Another important part of my further education is my students as well as the horses I train. Thanks to them, I am able to gather experience and school my eyes and my senses. Their differences always remind me to each of them being unique individuals.
In my lessons, I value a good, basic education. The horse should be formed and tension released, without using pressure or force to do so. A harmonic, yet consequent cooperation (basic obedience) should be sought. Riders should be reminded that it takes time to build a reliable basis. Working time should be used for gymnastic exercises only. The possibility to move and socialize should be given at the pasture.
My aim is, for my students to find and explore their own way and start thinking about the art of riding. As a teacher I want to accompany them on their journey to finding a natural relationship with their horses.
I offer mobile lessons, full- and part-time training for horses, seat schooling, ground-work, with the topics of basic obedience and body communication, working with a caveson and lungeline, work in hand as well as weekend clinics with theoretical and practical participation.
I look forward to hearing from you.
